  1. There is no change in the way budgets are made. Nobody cares to adhere to the budget in any way. Whether money is available or not, budgeted or not, it is still spent. So what difference does it make? A sort of rolling budget!

  2. The budget is tough but it has been realized after the damage made due to bringing in Tax Net, survey, and not taking into confidence the businessmen & Industrialists for improvement of economy. The budget will have effect on economy of Pakistan.

  3. This budget is the best budget in 54 years history of Pakistan. I salute President Pervez Musharraf for not having increased the Defence budget.

  4. It is the same since there is no change in the theme behind the show. The only change is that the board outside the shop is changed. Each of the past rulers, in each corresponding budget, said that it will not affect common citizen, and this one also claims the same.

  5. Reducing the defence budget by $ 2b is unimaginable. Is it that since India has invited us for peace talks, hence Pakistani rulers think that there is no need to bother about defence? Doesn't anyone take notice that, after inviting Pakistan for talks, India has signed several defence agreements with Russia for sophisticated arms? Better to do a rethinking on this aspect.

  6. Bluntly put, the budget shows that the government has failed to improve the national economy. It is anti-people, unbalanced and jugglery of figures. Pakistan's economy is wrecked. With increase in taxation, and the rapidly rising prices of essential goods, general public is increasingly being forced to pay for mistakes of past. The polarization of the Pakistani nation is once again reaching a grave level. .

General Musharraf faces at home a nonexistent unity, a jihad mentality, bigotry and a shattered economy. In such abysmal situation sanity demands that he steers the Pakistani nation on to a road to reconciliation with India.
