There is no chance of any expectation from the PML-Q government, which seems selected one rather than elected.  The new parliamentarians are fighting for only their ministries and powers.

It is surprising that they have nothing done in the direction of the agenda and promises they made during the election drive.  Fact is that the losers are only people of the poor and middle classes.

The PML (Q) government will not be able to redress economical crisis, social problems and administrative victimization. It will also fail to defuse the ethnic polarisation in Sindh and Punjab provinces.

The role of establishment at national level will not be under the political influence of PML (Q) government but it will remain under control of President General Pervez Musharraf.

I fully support Musharraf and Jamali government. Our economic and social numbers have never been better. In view of the Musharraf government rule, I don't think anyone can dare to indulge in the corruption like the  political leaders in the past.

I pray to Almighty Allah for the betterment of Pakistan like in the past three years. Instead of looking at our new leaders past history, we should look forward and tell ourselves that he is honest.

We expect good governance, improvement in  law and order situation to attract foreign investment and checks and balances on the government machinery for the benefits of common man.

I expect the new government will implement merits in all departments of the country. For achieving this goal, It should take immediate steps to root out corruption from the country. The new rulers should also make hectic efforts to appoint skilled overseas labour of Pakistan in the state-controlled departments as they are playing a great role for the development in the US and Britain. Seniority-based promotions must be eliminated from all departments.

I wish some concrete and practical proposals should be presented for the betterment of our beloved country.  Our nation as a general is too good in making criticism. Please come out with good ideas.

There can be so many things to talk about but I think one thing is very important. We should observe and keep checks on the acts on parliamentarians of our areas so that they should not deviate from their duties and responsibilities.

The expectations from the new regime are innumerable. The question is whether any of these expectations would ever be fulfilled. The new regime is in fact not the true representation of the poor masses of Pakistan as the horse trading and general’s hidden agenda has brought the politicians into the power. Many dealings have been made with the participants in the government.

People of Pakistan have been suffering for the last 56 years. This dummy regime would do absolutely nothing for the people no matter what high expectation they might have in store. We all should pray to Almighty Allah to give us advise to do the right things so that his mercy could save us from the total collapse.

The present federal cabinet comprises such political leaders who were once wanted by the National Accountability Bureau. Non-bailable arrest warrants were issued to Mir Zafarullah Jamali by the Balochistan High Court. Cases were also registered against Liaquat Jatoi, Faisal Saleh Hayat and many others in the NAB. If we are expecting something good from this lot then we are definitely living in fool's paradise

All the elections so far held have failed to bring prosperity and democratic stability in the country. Every time we see the same rich, greedy, selfish, insincere and disloyal people returning. Don’t you think there is a problem with the social system of our country. I think we must first get rid of feudal system.

President has fulfilled his promise by restoring democracy in the country. Jamali has been elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan with a very simple majority.

I expect his government should take such steps, which will eliminate all causes to political instability. I believe his government will be less influential in directing foreign, economic and defence policies.

I am expecting nothing new from the elected government. I will rate their success if they at least carry on the present policies for another 18 months. We have again witnessed the polarization and self-praising politics of our political leaders during the post-election period.

None of the party qualified which has care of the national interests. These are the things, which frustrate our masses. Until we get rid of old politicians and bring new leadership in the country, we as a nation could not succeed.

Keeping in view the deeds of all the past governments of this country, it is hard to expect anything fruitful from the new government. The good the public can expect now is that the government will not worsen the country's present situation. May Almighty Allah save our country.

Amal Shakeb

The focus of new government should be on economic reforms, political stability. It is very difficult for any government in Pakistan to clean every thing but it is important to pay attention to immediate needs. It is also important for the government to continue the accountability of corrupt people.

I think the PML-Q government should peruse the policies of Musharraf government. It should make hectic efforts for the welfare of the country and the nation.

I expect King's Party would  continue King's policies and further strengthen his hands. The new government would do nothing new as the faces in the regime are almost same. Common people are expecting nothing from these rulers because they are acting on the dictation of the military.

I expect the Prime Minister should continue the process of reforms initiated by President General Pervez Musharraf. To achieve these goals, right and professional individuals must be selected to head the different ministries.

I think the new government will work like the previous government because of the fact that the most of the leaders belong to PML(N). Our leaders are always shame for us as everyone know what was done by Nawaz, BB and her husband?  I hate all leaders because they are not sincere to the country.

This is a weak government so it would not be able to do any thing against the wishes of the military government.

As the victory has been attributed to the King’s Party, we do not expect any drastic changes in the future. The same foreign policy will continue and development will again be followed on same principles as under the military government. We are likely to witness a monolithic approach from the military, which will come from the King’s Party.

PML (Q) has succeeded to win the slots of Prime Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker. Now the government is in the hands of this party. Everyone knows that this regime is a King’s Party, therefore there will be no absolute change in the domestic and foreign policies as the people of Pakistan will not get any thing positive. The parliament will have to face a lot of problems because the opposition parties will not extend cooperation to it.

I expect the new government will pursue the reforms agenda of the Musharraf government and hope that it would make hectic efforts for improving the economy of the country. I also expect the new rulers will not follow their predecessors.

We don’t expect anything new from the PML-Q regime as it has nothing new to do. The regime will be following what President Musharraf did in the past. Mir Zafarullah Jamali has proved this by saying, “We are quite happy and satisfied with our foreign and economic policies”. Fact is that the new government comprises a bunch of old politicians.

The new government should retain President Musharraf’s polices and try to work sincerely for the betterment of the people. I expect the new government will not repeat the bullshit like the pervious governments of the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Muslim League (N ).

Munir

I expect the new government would continue the same policies of Musharraf 's regime and focus on the micro-economy of the country. The new cabinet should try to reduce the gap between rich and
poor. It should ensure that all people of the country are getting equal economic benefits.

Despite being in power, the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) does not have key posts of the ministers in the federal cabinet as compared to their supporters who are enjoying 60 to 80 percent representation in the cabinet.

It is a compromise or bargaining? But, fact is that this question confuses many Pakistanis.

It was heartening to see the capabilities of the elected politicians at the inaugural session of the National Assembly. This problems is due to the fact that these politicians are not ‘honest’. It is hoped that they will realize this time as the present situation gives Pakistan an opportunity to move towards democracy. It was
also very refreshing to see Mir Zaffarullah Khan Jamali saying "Pakistan First". I think this is something that all of us need to believe.

I expect the new elected representatives will strictly adhere to the oaths of their offices and serve Pakistan and its nation. However, for the proper functioning of democracy and its institutions, the opposition has a greater role to keep an eye on the checks and balances on the acts of the government.

Unfortunately, our oppositions in the past history were seemed involved in tradition of walkouts and boycotts. Such kind of acts of the oppositions proved that they did not fulfill their responsibilities which they carried on their shoulders. This time, we expect betterment from both the government and the opposition.
