What suggestions will you give to Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri on his upcoming visit to the United States of America?

I will suggest him to just request Americans that
the Pakistanis in USA should not be treat with any sort of discrimination, and
they should be treated like others nationals and humans. It will be also better
if Mr. Kasuri reminds Americans about the "Charter of Right" and
"Human Discrimination".
Apart, the matter of concern is will America
listen to Mr. Kasuri? It will remain a big question.

I
hope Pakistani foreign minister Mr Kasuri visit will be very successful. We have
lot of expectations from our government.
We have been having serious problems facing detentions and deportations.
Immigration department and FBI are raiding all Pakistani homes in USA and
arresting them as well.
What
is our fault? The only fault is that we are Pakistanis and Pakistan is a Muslim
country. If this is our fault then Pakistani Government should strongly protest
against it.
Second
Pakistani diplomats, who work in the embassy here, are totally useless. They
have not been very helpful for us Pakistanis in USA. They did lot of promises
but in vain.
I
met all of them, first of all they are not eligible to represent Pakistan. They
all look like typical "Sifarshi” people. They don’t deserve for
the positions.
What
advise one you give to a newly inducted servant going to his master for
introductions and instructions?

He had better stay
in Pakistan and should not waste resources in this useless trip. I hardly expect
him to do anything useful there.

Kasuri is gone to America to thank Great American about their new policy.
I think, he have to enforce American to Kick Pakistani out from America for
better peace in America and for better future for Pakistan because most of the
talented people of Pakistan goes outside their country to become slaves.
Now, i think its time for our Foreign Minister to give a new hope to Pakistan
and go America with the following Slogan:
Foreign Minister cannot
achieve any thing; it would be mere wastage of time and energy. I don't
understand why Pakistanis are having very high expectation from the US
government, whereas it has feel lest concerned about what Pakistan and
Pakistanis are facing.
What Mr. Kasuri can do or silently achieve is to try to read the agenda of the
American administration. It's not the right moment to take up the issue of
illegal Pakistanis at his level. Let the local Pakistani community and social
groups handle this matter.

I think it is childish and rubbish
to ask for any special concessions for Pakistanis living in USA. Registration is
required based on law and this is purely an internal matter for USA.
The only real and legitimate/dignified discussion point during the visit of Pakistani
foreign minister to US should be the discrimination in implementing the law and
not the law itself.

The foreign minister should
convince the united states that proper amnesty or proper legal status should be
granted to all illegal immigrants living in the united states, because Pakistan
has always stayed on front line with united states in war on anti-terrorism.
Here people are waiting with a lote of hopes and wishing Pakistani foreign
minister for successful meeting with American leaders and they hope for the best
is decided for Pakistanis.

The
foreign minister should urge the US government to give some concessions to the
Pakistanis as Pakistan itself has done well for the anti-terrorism war of
Americans.
In case if they are not ready to give exemption to Pakistan from the
registration then they should be asked to give regular status to all illegal
immigrants living in the USA.

I am hardly hopeful from Mr. Kasuri too. The only thing Mr. Kasuri can do
is to let the US realize their commitment, they did in the past. We have to
understand that until, we stop our apologetic behaviour and get serious
about ourselves and our values, there is no hope.
US will do whatever is better for their country and they are not going to listen
anyone in this regard. Face the fact, we are not even in a position to put any
pressure on US. We talk too much but we are not sincere with ourselves. Let’s
hope the things will better.

I will suggest that instead of requesting the US
government, the Pakistani government should ask Canadian government to take all
illegal non-criminal, Pakistanis.
All of these illegal Pakistanis will empower Canadian economy by
taking with them 15 thousand to millions of dollars in cash. In return Pakistan
should offer Canada investment opportunities with complete plans and
tax-free for 20 to 50 yrs.
I do not think the visit of our Foreign Minister to U.S. will be a successful visit, as his visit to U.S. is a visit to a country,
which does not care to listen to others. Contrarily, it always speak high about herself.
Nevertheless, there are many suggestions which can be given to the foreign
minister of Pakistan, Mr. Kasuri. But, I am hardly sure if he is really able to deliver the same to Bush Administration, as the policy of Pakistan towards U.S. relations has always been
formed in a view that the interests of the US government don't get affected rather than maintaining diplomatic and trade relations at equal level.
Possibilities are not there that Mr. Kasuri won't be able get Pakistan's name deleted from the INS list. Pakistani immigrants, whether staying
legally or illegally, have to meet their fate. Despite the fact that Pakistan became the
"first state" and a close ally of the U.S. government in US-led war against terrorism, Bush Administration will give lame excuses to Pakistan's Foreign Minister for not deleting Pakistan's name from INS list.
This is high time for the litmus test for so-called Pakistan-U.S. friendship. The priority for the U.S. government is to protect U.S. interests in the region, and in the case of Pakistan and the Pakistanis who are presently staying in U.S., Pakistan cannot be an exception.
Apart, the up-coming visit of our President General Pervez Musharaff on February 4, 2003 to Russia can play a vital role in balancing our relations with the United States of America, and
gradually Pakistan can come out from the clutches of the U.S. government.
Pakistan should maintain its diplomatic relations in a dignified way and on equal status with all the countries in the world including the U.S. I would like to quote here an example of People's Republic of China. China has never treated Pakistan in the same way and the manner as U.S.
has done and doing so far. Maintaining relations with U.S. is as good as some one is living in a fools paradise.
Today U.S. is bent upon removing Saddam by hook or by crook. Tomorrow for U.S., it will be the government of General Pervez Musharaff or Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali? Let us forget in dreaming with open eyes and that too in the day light.
